Self-Driving Cars: The Road To A Driverless Future
The future is here!! Now is not the time to waste energy. Everything has become so fast that people are investing money in the innovative technologies. Self-Driving cars are the one step ahead of our future. The future of cars holds great fascinations and is constantly surprising us with the new innovations. According to a research, 10 million vehicles will be introduced to the world till 2020 that will carry the passengers without drivers.
Characteristics of the future cars
- Carry passengers from one place to another
- Deliver groceries, meals etc. from store to apartment or homes
- Transport packages from city to city.
- Even transport goods or packages from country to country but that will require full legal activity
Although the future seems interesting and fascinating, but their are still people who are afraid of the self-driving cars. According to a research 63% people afraid to sit in such cars.
The Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety (AHAS) states that
60% said they were “not inclined” to ride in self-driving cars. Moreover, almost 70% showed “concerns” about sharing the road with them. This is because they do not trust the robotic system on the road. However again according to a research, 94% of car crashes are caused by human error.
Big companies advancing in the future cars
Companies like Ford have recently made plans for self-driving cars. The CEO of Ford, Jim Hackett states that “We overestimated the arrival of autonomous vehicles. ” It looks so easy, rather it is very difficult to manufacture a self-driven car as all the precautionary measures need to be taken.
From a survey, it is being estimated that the company has invested over $4 billion in the technology’s development through 2023. It includes over $1 billion in Argo AI, which is an artificial intelligence company. This company creates a virtual driver system. in the present, Ford is testing its self-driving vehicles in Miami, Washington, D.C. and Detroit.
The future is unpredictable. We can’t say that the self-driven cars can be beneficial for us neither that they may harm us. It’s all dependent upon the future. However, we as human beings trust ourselves more because we like to control the things. When we give control into others hands, we might feel concerned about that.Author: Nicole Seth
